Happy Ever After

It all started with a high five but six months after we got engaged...one year, eight months and 17 days after we started dating...and one year nine months and 23 days after we met we finally got our happy ever after and Leisa B is now Leisa P! Thanks to our amazing family and friends who supported and helped and loved us enough to be there (some even from across the country) we had an amazing wedding day. The brunch was done up so cute, the temple was amazing, totally beyond words, and the reception was perfect (minus a few falling-off flowers and groomsmen mishaps :) and we rode off into the sunset in a very decorated car. Moral of the story? We are so blessed to be sealed in the temple and have such supportive family and friends. Thanks to everyone who has helped us on our road to happily ever after! P.S. real wedding pictures to come!

Mattress Anyone?

So yesterday Leisa and I went shopping...mattress shopping that is! It was a very interesting experience. I thought we'd just walk in, try one out, take a little nap, and get the one that felt the best...but oh was I wrong. You have to evaluate the spring system, the quality of the latex, how many springs are in the bed, what gauge wire are the coils, if it has a warranty, how long of a warranty, do they deliver, do they sell frames, do they....do they...does it....will it....information overload! Who'd a thought it was this complicated?! But, after going to just about every mattress store in Cache Valley, Leisa and I got the hang of it. We knew the questions to ask and what was good or not. We're pretty much mattress shopping pros now :) The way we see it is, neither of us are heavy enough or sleep enough to wear out a mattress any time soon. But just to be safe we got the mattress (just in case you're curious, which I'm sure you are :p) with heavy gauge wire, a linked spring system, with double foam padding around the edges, and that had a 15 year warranty...15 year warranty?! Now that's what I'm talkin about! Anyway, we came away feeling pretty good about it...a little poor, but good ;) One more item checked off and 19 DAYS AND COUNTING!

*SMILE*

We finally got a break from this wonderful Utah spring weather we've been having and took engagements. I think we laughed the whole time but our very talented photographer managed to get a few semi-normal ones. Here's just a few...

The BIG 2-1

Saturday was my 21st birthday...big I know. So to celebrate Coby, my family, and I went down to Thanksgiving Point. Luckily we had impeccable timing and got there in between thunderstorms. Even though it was a little cloudy and chilly the flowers were b-e-a-utiful! Tulips are pretty much my favorite so what more could I want then to spend the day at the tulip festival with some of my favorite people.

Even with all the gorgeous flowers, I think the highlight of the day was our little owl friend. Of course my dad (who could spot a flea a mile away) picked it out from the waterfall rocks. He was pretty rockin.

After Thanksgiving Point we went to Texas Roadhouse where we waited for hours (the food is good but not THAT good people). Coby thought he was pretty sneaky and told the waitress it was my birthday so I got to ride the "birthday saddle". My face definitely turned red..bright red. I think the saddle is for 18 and under...but apparently I look about that so I guess it was OK.

All in all, even with finals and rain, it was nice to sit back, take a break from studying and drink in the day (no pun intended). I loved the flowers, loved the food, but most of all loved the family.

...it shouldn't be snowing...

It snowed today...like really snowed. It shouldn't be snowing for two reasons. A. because it is April and it is spring and there are flowers in bloom! It shouldn't snow on the flowers! B. because a snowflake went UP my nose! I couldn't believe it. We were walking home from the library and I sniffed and a snowflake went up my nose. Ya know that feeling when you go in a swimming pool and water goes up your nose? It was kinda like that...except cold...really cold. the moral of the story is it should not snow in April but if it does DO NOT sniff if you're walking in the snow because you risk a snowflake flying up your nose.

Good Deeds

Walkin home from school today I had a little testimony builder. There was a car on the side of the road...with a flat tire...and little Asian woman in the driver seat looking very distraught. I was on my way over to see if she was okay when a brand new Camero pulled up behind her and a man wearing very nice clothes walked up to her window and asked if he could change her tire for her. I thought it was great! Here's this guy who obviously has ample money and comfort and he stops and takes off his nice jacket and shoes and changes this lady's tire. It made me smile. It just goes to show that no matter what our circumstance or station in life we can always find something good to do for someone else...those darn Boy Scouts were right all along.

I know, I know...I look young

So sad story...well kinda. I went to rent my slip for my WEDDING DRESS on Saturday so I could get it hemmed so I walk into the dress store and tell them I need a slip. Now I know it's prom season but I haven't been to a high school dance in three years people...THREE YEARS. So anyway, I tell the girl at the dress store that I need a slip and what does she say? She asks what dance it is for!! My mom busts up and my face probably turned the color of a very ripe tomato but I simply said...actually, I'm getting married. To which she says three classic words, "You look so young!" Needless to say I got the slip and left. Everyone (including Coby) says that when I'm 50 I'll love it because I'll look so young and that's great...but I'm not 50! Don't I look even a little bit older than 18? I'm almost 21! But Coby's probably right. One day when I look 10 years younger I supposed I will have the last laugh, until then Senior Prom here I come!
